Dr. AMM Fahath
Researcher, author and Executive Director of the Center for Peace Canada. Writing on refugee journeys, displacement, and the rights of minority communities.
A record of the journeys people are forced to make
Abdul Majeed Mohammed Fahath is a peace and human rights activist, researcher and media professional based in Scarborough, Ontario.
He serves as Executive Director of the Center for Peace Canada, where his work brings together journalism, human rights advocacy and academic research. He holds a Bachelor's degree, a Master's degree and a PhD in Journalism and Mass Communication.
His research concentrates on refugee studies, forced migration, displacement, human rights and the journeys of refugees and displaced communities — the routes people take, and what the crossing asks of them.
He has taken part in international human rights meetings, media forums and professional conferences held in connection with the United Nations in Geneva, as well as in India, Dubai, Germany, France and Sri Lanka. That exposure to global discussion on peacebuilding, conflict resolution and refugee protection runs through everything he publishes.
Originally from Sri Lanka and now based in Canada, he brings an international perspective to understanding the experiences of refugees, migrants, minorities and communities living with the aftermath of conflict.
